Functioning information, by design
Information is complex in how it functions; not only because it’s structurally complex, but because humanity is inextricably intertwingled.
People are learning, continually. Information shifts as we learn. Information technology is amazing because it shares information broadly and fast.
When information breaks, so does the technology built using it. It’s breaking in so many ways right now, but the fixes are usually along a handful of key patterns:
- trustworthy, with information literacy
- coherence across systems
- aligned with people, instead of making people adapt
- faceted to diversity, instead of dismissing humanity
- tackling problems, instead of inventing solutions looking for a problem to solve
- right-sizing in time
- contextualizing
Contact me. We can talk. Not every talk winds up in a project – sometimes your team just needs a map, or what you need is a particular niche (I might even know some people). I bring humanity to even my work pipeline….shocking, I know. ;)
